Writing an Adventure Story
Follow these steps to help you write an adventure story:
Step 1
Ask yourself these following questions and jot down your notes in the graph below.
Who is my hero or main character?
Where does the action take place?
When does the action take place?
What is going to happen in my adventure story?
Why does it happen?

| Why ? | Main events leading up to the adventure |
Before doing step 2 have your graph approved by your teacher.
Step 2
Follow this link to complete the plot graph.
Before doing step 3, have it approved by your teacher.
Step 3
Now you are ready to start your first draft. Your adventure story needs a beginning, a middle and an ending. Do not forget the title and seperate your text into paragraphs.
In the beginning, explain and describe who is the hero ( the main character), the setting and time period. Then, describe the events leading up to the adventure.
In the middle, (the body) describe and give the details about the adventure.
The ending, the events that happened after the adventure.
Step 4
Have a partner proofread, correct and comment your text. Then correct your mistakes and write your final version.
