an exercise in Point of View

Class 1

Introduce movie

Watch 60-70 mins of english version

While we watch the movies you should be watching for and analysing how the different points of view(English-documentary:omnipotent narrator / French-character narration) of the same film affect our experience and how we perceive the movie and what happens.

Take notes on: 

   - the mood and atmosphere created by the narrator.

   - how other elements(music, scenery) affect mood

   - what feelings were created in you (the audience) while watching

   - how information about the penguins is communicated

Class 2

In a text of 200-300 words describe how your viewing experince was different for each version of the movie. List and describe how your perception(s) (how you felt, things you noticed, mood, etc..) were different because of the change of point of view. Use our notes to help you.
